Shockey Deal Done?
PFW is reporting that a trade sending Jeremy Shockey to the Saints might be in place. The deal is believed to involve multiple draft picks, including the Saints second round pick (40th overall).
ProFootballTalk followed up the report with one of their own, claiming that Shockey has not been notified of any deal.
Anyone else happy there will be a resolution to all this tomorrow? There is no denying Shockey’s talent or fire. He is a top-5 tight end when healthy there is no doubt. I’m sure this perception of him being a “cancer” is a little overblown and teammates probably love his desire to win. The concern I have is why a team with one of the best passing offenses the last few seasons with a weak defense trade multiple picks for a tight end. I mean DeAngelo Hall was traded for a second-round and a fifth-round pick, although we all know there is no chance the Falcons would have traded him inside the division.
