The New Orleans Saints may not know what they want to do with Alvin Kamara, but the same cannot be said for Kamara. He clearly wants to stay in New Orleans, and his agent, Brad Cicala, is the latest to comment on Kamara's status. NFL insider Mike Garafolo revealed Cicala told him "we plan on playing for the Saints," this weekend. The pressure is on Mickey Loomis and Kellen Moore.
For as drawn out as this process has been, it hasn't really gotten messy between Kamara and the Saints. There was that one article in response to Tyrann Mathieu's comments about Kamara being treated unfairly. Other than that, it doesn't seem to be many media games. Cicala's comments through Garafolo feel like an attempt to make it clear in the midst of uncertainty.
With A.J. Brown and Myles Garrett traded, Alvin Kamara and Brandon Aiyuk move into the spotlight for potential post-June 1 moves.

I spoke to Kamara’s agent, Brad Cicala, yesterday and he said, “We plan on playing for the #Saints in 2026.” From @gmfb 👇🏼 pic.twitter.com/U4snXieVDb
Cicala's comment tracks with the how the entire situation has played out. There’s been three components of the fiasco. The fans, Kamara and the Saints. Only the latter two have any say in the matter, obviously, but the fans started the notion of replacing Kamara with Etienne. It was mostly non-Saints fans, but the chatter was loud.
The prevailing notion from the rumbles was there's no room for Kamara now that Etienne is in the mix. Kamara did his best to shut down the belief, but the Saints haven't done enough to do the same. While signing Etienne didn't mean Kamara didn't have a place in the backfield, it very well could have been the beginning of the end.
Kamara has said in the past that he only wants to play in New Orleans. He'd rather retire than play for another team. Kamara told Armstead he’d love to play with Etienne this offseason. Cicala’s comments fall directly in line with that thought process. If anything, it’s an update that nothing has changed on the Kamara side.
The ball is unquestionably in the Saints' court. One side is giving definitive answers. The other side is remaining vague. If anything, Kellen Moore's answers have told us less than they did at the beginning of the offseason.
