While the news of Joseph Morgan’s arrest dominated the early part of the week as far as New Orleans Saints headlines, we now have some rather interesting news to report regarding, you know, actual football!
The second of week of OTA’s are almost in the book and Rob Ryan has begun installing the new Saints defense. One thing Saints fans can expect from this year’s defense is creativity.
“I think better coaches than me – I’ve learned from some really great coaches. And their philosophy always was play the best players, put ‘em in the best position to succeed,” Ryan said.
Per Pat Yasinkas:
New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis did a nice job of guiding the Saints through a tough salary-cap situation this offseason. But Loomis is going to have to do the same thing all over again next year.
“I’m just being smart with it,” Jenkins said Thursday. “It’s doing pretty good. I was able to do some running today, and do some drills without it bothering me. So I definitely plan to go next week.”
It’s a new year and head coach Sean Payton has made it clear that there are several starting positions up for grabs.
“All I’m looking forward to right now is learning the playbook and learning the technique. And I’m gonna apply that as well as I can. Do the best I can with my ability.”
