All eyes are on the 2024 NFL Draft, that’s set to start Thursday evening. At least that’s how NFL general managers approached their pre-draft media sessions this week. However, the media will take advantage of any time they have with general managers, asking questions on any topic. The general managers, who wanted to stick to draft talk, were reminded of that this week.

New Orleans Saints GM Mickey Loomis was apart of that group. Loomis spoke with the media on Tuesday, discussing the upcoming draft, but he also had to answer some tough questions. The toughest question that came his way was about star cornerback Marshon Lattimore and his future with the team.

Loomis was asked by ESPN’s Katherine Terrell if he expects Lattimore to be on the Saints roster for the 2024 season. Loomis simply answered, “Yeah.” Then, Terrell followed up asking Loomis if he would actually tell the media if the answer was anything other than yes. That’s when things got interesting.

Loomis responded, “What do you think,” then started laughing. He admitted that he was trying to avoid the question and that he doesn’t like talking about specific players but ultimately expressed that every player is tradable, it just depends on the offer.

Loomis went on to say that he doesn’t like to trade players that have been good contributors for the Saints. He prefers to keep them on the roster and get the best out of them. However, he knows that he’s traded players before and that anything is possible.

Simply, everyone will have to wait and see if Marshon Lattimore is going to be a part of the Saints in 2024. The soon-to-be 28-year-old cornerback has been limited to 17 games over the last two seasons because of injuries. However, he’s still good when healthy. With three years remaining on his contract, the Saints don’t have to trade him, however, like Loomis expressed, anything could happen.
