Still, as Strief acknowledged, every player at camp is taking a cutthroat competitive attitude. He is hoping Stinchcomb’s absence gives him a shot at the starting job, just as the guys behind him are hoping to knock him out of his longtime job as a versatile backup in New Orleans.
Seats have been replaced or refurbished, and new ones added; there are new club facilities and restrooms, and new video systems and scoreboards installed. Luxury suites have been added and the Saints’ locker room expanded to twice its old size.
Marques Colston missed practice for the fifth consecutive session to “rest” his right knee, telling reporters Wednesday that they still haven’t found the cause of the irritation.
Less than two weeks after the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints began arming themselves to the teeth with talent on both sides of the ball, Packers tight end Jermichael Finley wanted to make it clear that he isn’t sweating the hype.
In a bit of a surprise move, the New Orleans Saints have waived veteran Danny Clark, who was thought to be in the mix for a starting job at outside linebacker.
