The lockout has pressed on longer than anyone wanted, moreover anyone that’s willing to admit it and that is not an owner of an NFL franchise.

Photo courtesy of the Chronicle and Mark Costantini This is not the article I started out writing. Articles often have a way wandering off like a pet; at times you have to chase them down and bring them back. This time I let the article wander.

The first official shoe to drop from the ongoing NFL lockout has occurred with the NFL rookie symposium being cancelled.  What will be the next piece of collateral damage from the lockout and it’s aftermath?  Let’s look.

Clipped from: www.nfl.com (share this clip) On any given Sunday, any one of the 45 running backs on this list could give a performance typical of the five players in Group A. In fact, almost every one of these backs has done it, with the exception of the two rookies who made the list.

The first half of the NFL’s “Top 100″ list in the books and the Saints are finally represented, guard Carl Nicks came in at 55 followed by wide receiver Marques Colston at 53. The list was compiled by the players, not a panel of experts, making inclusion a rather big honor.

Photo courtesy of Google Images and our veterans I won’t get all long-winded, it’s late. It’s enough for tonight that we “remember to remember”. Memorial day is not just about drinking beer and getting a day off. Holidays are great, but often the original meaning is lost.

The next major milestone in the ongoing legal battle is just around the corner — on June 3rd the owners and players (or player representatives) will be back in court awaiting a final verdict from the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.

The final phase of renovations will improve fan experience and make the Superdome the NFL’s fifth largest stadium, in terms of seating capacity.
