Super Bowl MVP Quarterback Drew Brees and freerice are challenging students and sports fans young and old, to team up for a different kind of bowl game this February, with the goal of beating Global Hunger.

The 2011 Pro Bowl made it’s return to the fan, and player, favorite Honolulu, Hawaii after a brief hiatus last season from the island when the NFL decided to hold the event stateside in Miami, Florida.

Pierre Thomas’ story with the New Orleans Saints is one most close to the sport can appreciate. Thomas went undrafted in 2007 out of the University of Illinois and manged to become one of two undrafted rookies to make the Saints final roster that year.

His talents have propelled the Saints’ offense to leading the league in passing and points scored nearly every season since he took over in 2006, but there is one thing that Payton can’t plan for — injuries.

Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams is slated to become a free agent this off-season. The Panthers are coming a disasterous 2-14 season in 2010 and are currently in re-building mode after parting with head coach John Fox and most of his coaching staff.

The Saints don’t have very many needs this off-season other than the resigning of their own free agents, but most would agree rebuilding the defense should be top priority.

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is drawing harsh criticism from the media and fans alike after leaving Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the Packers with an undisclosed knee injury in the third quarter.

Ivory’ played his first 3 years of college football at Washington State where injuries only allowed him to play in just 22 games with 91 rushes for 534 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Now that the Super Bowl match-up is set, and we wait two more weeks for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers to lay it on the line in Dallas, it is important for Saints fans to not take this season for granted.

The Saints have signed two running backs to their roster agreeing to contracts with Chris Taylor and Jed Collins.
