Dennis Allen continues to flaunt his job security in the face of Saints fans

The New Orleans Saints are now 2-6, but a coaching change likely isn’t coming soon, despite how much fans want one.

Every week seems like rock bottom for the New Orleans Saints, but they somehow find a way to dig even lower every game day. The Saints hit a new low on Sunday, losing 26-8 against the Los Angeles Chargers. It’s New Orleans’ sixth straight loss, and barring a miraculous turnaround, the team’s season is essentially over.

With the way things have unfolded in recent weeks, Saints fans only want two things: a high draft pick and for Dennis Allen to be fired. With how the team is playing, both should be inevitable, but Saints fans know the second one is unlikely.

New Orleans has no intention to move on from Allen in the middle of the season, and everyone knows that, including Allen. That’s why the head coach is dropping weekly comments, essentially taunting Saints fans about the fact he isn’t going anywhere.

Following Sunday’s loss, Allen was asked about having conversations with Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. Allen responded by saying he speaks with Loomis every day, so he doesn’t feel any more sense of needing more conversations.

Regardless of how much Allen and Loomis talk, or how Loomis meant this statement, this isn’t what Saints fans want to hear after a sixth straight loss.

Dennis Allen continues to say the wrong things

This comes a week after Allen flat out said he wasn’t worried about his job, despite being embarrassed in a home game by Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos. Allen may just be too honest, but he certainly doesn’t know how to read the room.

However, he knows what all Saints fans know, and that is Loomis has no intention to fire him, at least not during the season. Loomis has consistently supported Allen and has even helped him elude blame. However, fans are now tired of Allen and Loomis, and are ready to check out on the team until something changes.
