In the first quarter of the Week 9 game between the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers, wide receiver Chris Olave was on the receiving end of a brutal hit that resulted in him leaving the game with a concussion, being carted off the field, and going to a local hospital for monitoring. Fortunately, it has been reported that Olave has movement in all his extremities, and is alert with good vitals.

The moment the hit happened, fans were quick to call out Saints quarterback Derek Carr for throwing Olave a hospital ball— a term in the football world for a ball that leads a receiver into a big colission. Leading the criticism of Carr was former Saints receiver Michael Thomas, who previously blamed Carr for a bad pass that resulted in him being hurt last season.

Thomas took to social media, absolutely unloading on Derek Carr. Among his rant of tweets was a post where he called Carr a liar for saying Thomas was jealous of Olave becoming WR1. Thomas went on to say Carr can’t even give Olave decent throws.

While brutal, this isn’t surprising to see from Thomas, who has been outspoken about how he feels throughout his career. However, what was a bit surprising to see was Chris Olave’s brother, Josh, endorsing this message.

Josh Olave quote tweeted the post with two 100 emojis, expressing that he also feels the same way.

Chris Olave’s brother agrees with Michael Thomas about Derek Carr

You can’t blame Josh for feeling this way after he watched his brother get carted off the field on a spine board. Emotions are high, and by all definitions of the term, Carr did throw Olave a hospital ball. However, it’s fair to assume Josh’s reaction is about more than this one throw.

The last time Olave’s brother tweeted was when he questioned why his brother only had one target deep into the Week 5 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He clearly hasn’t been happy with what he’s been seeing this year for his brother.

Josh did post another tweet, sharing that Chris Olave recently called him and that he’s up and active. So after criticizing Carr, he also brought everyone a positive update.
