For what feels like the first time in years, the New Orleans Saints haven't made any major trades. Outside of a draft-day deal for Tyree Wilson, general manager Mickey Loomis has held onto his trade chips. It's the responsible move.

And what's the fun in that?

As reckless as they may be, we've put together three mock trades to accelerate the Saints' roster construction, addressing the remaining areas of need as the 2026 season draws closer.

3 Saints offseason trade ideas leave no stone unturned

Even after taking Jordyn Tyson with the 8th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Saints could still use help at wide receiver. They have limited options at the position, especially in the slot. The Miami Dolphins, who have already traded away or released multiple key members of their roster this offseason, may be willing to make another move.

Malik Washington may be the best receiver remaining on Miami's roster, but that isn't saying much. He's a solid option in the slot who can make defenders miss after the catch. That kind of skill set could complete Kellen Moore's receiver room.

The Saints didn't do much to address the cornerback position in the draft. While their starters are passable, they could use some veteran depth at the position. Enter, Sean Murphy-Bunting. The 28-year-old defender missed the 2025 season with an injury, but he's been solid throughout his career. If the medical evaluations check out, he's worth taking a chance on at a low cost.

The Saints should have no problem sending defensive tackle Khristian Boyd to the Arizona Cardinals in return. The former sixth-round pick has been decent in his limited opportunities, but he likely won't play a significant role for New Orleans this year. The Cardinals, who are light on the interior, could have more use for him.

Tyler Shough may have outperformed Spencer Rattler in 2025, but the former South Carolina QB held his own when he was on the field. He could still be a valuable option for a team in need of a quarterback. If the Indianapolis Colts are worried that Daniel Jones won't be healthy for the start of the year, Rattler could be their guy.

They may be hesitant to give up Grover Stewart in return. The veteran defensive tackle has been a consistent starter in Indianapolis, but he's nearing the end of his career. If the Saints can pry him away from his longtime home, he could be a nice addition to their defensive front.
