Alvin Kamara has been a staple in the New Orleans Saints’ offense since being drafted in 2017. However, his time in the black and gold is coming to an end sooner rather than later, causing analysts to widely project a trade to a contender. In a recent article at Bleacher Report, Kristopher Knox named him as a possible post-June one trade. While this is an enticing option, the Saints should stay far away and keep the veteran in the bayou.

“While New Orleans is unlikely to get a massive return for an aging back, Kamara's dual-threat ability should warrant some interest from running back-needy teams,” Knox said. “The Saints will be more likely to accept a bargain offer once the cap hit of moving Kamara becomes more manageable.”

Knox named the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys as suitors for Kamara. Both of these teams are contenders and would give Kamara a chance to compete in February, but the five-time Pro Bowler hasn’t shown any interest in leaving the Saints.

Despite these rumors, Alvin Kamara isn’t going anywhere

Similar reports about a potential Kamara trade surfaced ahead of the trade deadline. When asked about these, the nine-year veteran made his thoughts clear: he’s not leaving. Even if it would be advantageous for the front office, they aren’t going to trade him.

Even though Kamara will be 31 years old during the upcoming season, he’s still an impactful presence from the backfield. He will take a backseat to Travis Etienne Jr., but still has a valuable role in this offense, both on and off-the-field. Kamara’s outstanding leadership and continued explosiveness make him a perfect option for Kellen Moore. There’s no reason he shouldn’t be on the roster ahead of 2026.

Overall, rumors about Alvin Kamara’s future on the Saints have been circulating, but he’s not going anywhere. The veteran has made his stance clear: he’s a Saint for life. Additionally, it makes no sense for Mickey Loomis and Kellen Moore to ship him off, even if it’s to a contender.
