The New Orleans Saints wide receiver room just went from question mark to one that creates a ton of excitement with one pick. Tyler Shough has to be sitting back at home rubbing his hands together at the pick. Jordyn Tyson gives the room a different dynamic, and most of all it gives the unit a player in addition to Chris Olave and Devaughn Vele to feel good about.

The highlight of the room is obviously Tyson and Olave. That's a handful for any defense, and it's not lost on Tyson. The Saints pass attack began to ascend at the end of the year. Drafting Tyson put a jetpack on that trajectory, and his soundbite is proof.

Saints' Jordyn Tyson sent a massive warning shot to the rest of the NFL

Tyson kept it short and sweet, but you don't need many words to describe what this pick means. When asked about defenses having to defend both him and Olave, Tyson simply said, "It's gonna get ugly."

Ugly has been a perfect adjective to describe the Saints receiving corps for some years now but never in the way that Tyson meant. Vele is a quality receiver and showed flashes of what he could be when utilized at the end of the season. However, drafting a receiver in the first round is a different level of investment.

This is the first time the Saints have invested this much into their receiving corps in a decade. Olave is coming off a career season in which he made second team All-Pro, and the Saints followed it up by picking a receiver in the top-10. That's the type of aggressiveness you need when building around a young quarterback.

This is two first round picks on the outside, and the hope is Tyson is right about it getting ugly. Defenses are going to have to account for both players on the outside, and the mere fact of that should benefit both Tyson and Olave. If the pair sticks together, you could reasonably see the Saints put two 1000 yard receivers on the field.
