3. Pass Rusher

This isn’t as strong of a need now that Marcus Davenport and David Onyemata are back in the lineup but it’s still a position that I wouldn’t be upset at the Saints for adding.

The pass rush was non-existent before the Saints entered their Week 6 BYE but we’ve seen that Davenport’s addition and now Onyemata’s return as well have helped Cameron Jordan get after the quarterback again (he has two sacks in the last two games after not recording a single one through the first six games).

We already saw the Rams trade for Von Miller so pass rushers are available at the deadline. New Orleans probably won’t go this route because the unit has totaled eight sacks since coming off their BYE and that total should only go up once Payton Turner is healthy and able to take the field.

At the same time though, the strength of this team is their defense, so adding another pass rusher would make this defense even stronger than it already is. Chandler Jones would be an expensive acquisition but there’s also names like Akiem Hicks, Emmanuel Ogbah, and Melvin Ingram to consider.
