The trade deadline is later this afternoon and the New Orleans Saints still have some areas of concern. They won’t be able to address everything but even adding help at one of these positions would go a long way for this team down the road.

Let’s take a look at four positions the Saints might lock in on at the trade deadline.

4. Quarterback

Jameis Winston is out for the year after suffering an ACL injury in the win over Tampa Bay. Sean Payton said during his media session on Monday that he feels good about the quarterbacks the Saints have on the roster moving forward so it’s doubtful this team actually adds a quarterback before the trade deadline.

Trevor Siemian has starting experience and played decent enough on Sunday that the Saints should stand pat with what they already have. Taysom Hill should be back soon and when he returns, that’ll give the team more flexibility with what they want to do at the position.

Looking at the Saints offense this season, the offense didn’t live or die by what Jameis Winston did, so there’s no reason Siemian can’t step in and perform well as the starting quarterback. Trading for a signal-caller wouldn’t be a good move for this team.
