Marcus Williams

The free safety is the captain of the defense.

Marcus Williams, in his fourth season in the NFL, will need to step up as the defensive quarterback. Against a team with two of the top-15 receivers in the NFL, Williams having a huge game will be an important factor in limiting Chris Godwin and Mike Evans.

While Williams’ career is finally starting not to be defined by the Minnesota Miracle, the young star needs Pro Bowl to his name to ensure he’ll get that large next contract. He’s set to be a free agent after this season.

Williams will have multiple season-defining games, and Week 1 may be one.

The Bucs have one of the strongest receiving corps in the league with Gronk coming in the middle of the field as well. If Williams can play a part in neutralizing them, it’ll be great for his value both now and moving forward.
