Demario Davis

The Saints linebacker corps is probably the weakest unit on the defense.

Alongside Davis, the Saints will have Kaden Ellis and Alex Anzalone, two players that were involved before suffering season-ending injuries.

Anzalone was a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and Ellis was a seventh-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Both players have potential, but it’ll be Davis that is the leader of the group.

Davis will have a huge responsibility when it comes to forcing Leonard Fournette back into the middle of the field. He may also have to watch Rob Gronkowski over the middle, a task easier said than done.

Starting his ninth season in the NFL, Davis is among the best linebackers in the NFL and will be looking for his fourth straight season of over 100 tackles. He recorded a career-high 12 pass deflections last season so building on that would be nice as well.

Davis will captain the middle of the field for New Orleans, and he’ll be a game-changer in their Week 1 matchup against a pass-heavy Bucs.
