Things are still slow for the defending Super Bowl champs as time ticks down to the start of training camp later this month.

The Saints once again went on a “Championship Tour” around the Gulf Coast to help boost the spirits of citizens affects by the still on-going oil spill by showcasing their flashy new piece of hardware — The Lombardi Trophy.

Drew Brees made a bevy of stops including a guest appearance on Versus’ The Daily Line where he gave his opinion on the Saints Super Bowl run, chance of repeat and even Brett Favre’s future with the Vikings.

Madden curse? What Madden curse?

Brees scoffs at the idea that since he is the cover athlete for Madden 2011 he will some how be afflicted with a down season as so many cover athletes before him have been.

In fact Brees spit right in the face of the so called curse by  handing out free copies of Madden 2011 to kids in New York during his brief stay in the big apple.
