It's been difficult to land on a concrete prediction of Alvin Kamara's future throughout the offseason. Tyrann Mathieu chimed in on his feelings on the matter, and Saints fans couldn't have seen this take coming. He believes the New Orleans Saints are mishandling Alvin Kamara this offseason, and it all comes back to Dennis Allen.
Mathieu heard there's people within the building upset, because they feel Kamara led the charge for Allen to be fired but hasn't been productive himself. The former safety made it clear that isn't his opinion but simply what he's heard. One thing he stood on is the Saints not dealing with Kamara in "good faith." He'd rather they just tell Kamara they want to move on than playing this game.

"The Saints aren't dealing with him in good faith... this is not the way you treat your all-time touchdown leader... one of my good sources told me a few people in that building are mad at him." pic.twitter.com/geXMKI7IVt
Mickey Loomis' comments on Alvin Kamara look a little different now
We’ve heard 4 voices on Kamara’s future in New Orleans: Kamara, Mickey Loomis, Kellen Moore and now Mathieu. Mathieu’s comments may have connected the dots on why the other three voices sounded so drastically different.
Loomis’ update, or lack thereof, on Kamara a week ago was strange at the time. He stonewalled the question about Kamara, while openly expressing the desire to bring Cam Jordan back. Loomis talked about Jordan’s value to the team and community and how he wants to see the legend return to New Orleans.Â
All those things could be said about Kamara, but Loomis was insistent on keeping those conversations private. The tone between two similar players couldn’t be more different. Mathieu hearing there may be some resentment towards Kamara from those in the organization explains the strange tone of the response.Â
When Moore was asked about it, he affirmed that he wanted Kamara on the team on both occasions. The answer was a bit clunky the first time, but the sentiment didn’t change. Mathieu pointed out the family component of the Saints organization. Loomis was there with Dennis Allen, while Kellen Moore wasn’t. Moore wouldn’t hold any allegiance to Allen.Â
If there was anyone harboring resentment towards Kamara, it wouldn’t be Moore. Loomis, however, could completely be one of the people Mathieu’s sources told him feel a way about how the situation transpired.Â
Kamara recently came out and expressed his excitement to return to the Saints next year. Maybe it's all water under the bridge. Maybe it isn't. It does feel like things are moving towards Kamara staying in New Orleans for another season. Moore wants it. Kamara wants it. And Loomis likely won't stand in the way of it.
