In the New Orleans Saints blowout Week 3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Tyler Shough entered the game in what is considered "garbage time," the point in the game were the Seahawks leading by too many and not enough time on the clock to even think of a comeback.

Shough is in a special circumstance, however. He's looking for an opportunity to win a starting job, so this is the ideal time to shine and have coaches, fans, and their own fellow teammates begin questioning who should have the start. Tyler Shough threw two passes, and they both fell incomplete. He didn't necessarily seize the moment, but there was still a moment there to be seized.

Rattler didn't have a bad day, looking at the box score, throwing for 218 yards and a touchdown. But 3 straight losses without consistent production coming from the offense, it's only natural for a franchise to consider seeing what others may be able to bring to the table.

What Tyler Shough 2 snaps signals for the Saints offensively

For those who are in favor of Spencer Rattler as the shot-caller theres no reason to be concerened about him losing the starting job, yet.

It's no need to overanalyze Tyler Shough entering the game. Every team, no matter which end of a blowout a franchise may be on, will pull out their starting quarterbacks to run no risk of injury when there's no way to change the outcome of the game. It's a textbook move that every team makes at the end of a game.

But for New Orleans, this could very well be the first sign of the team beginning to re-ignite the quarterback battle that Rattler won during the pre-season. This time, knowing what Rattler can bring to the table for the Saints in his 3 starts so far. If the Saints reopen that jar, it's more than likely with the plan to push

If Rattler continues to play at a high level but pairing it with wins under New Orleans' belt, there will be no QB dispute. If things continue to go as they have, though, Shough could be making his first career start sooner than later.
