The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with Justin Reid on a three-year deal worth $31.5 million, according to Adam Schefter. This is great news for the Saints considering the hits they've taken in the secondary this offseason.

The Saints lost Paulson Adebo and Will Harris and while they agreed on a new deal with Tyrann Mathieu, it's good to see them add more help to the secondary. Reid is an excellent addition and has followed Mathieu's career trajectory funny enough.

Reid, a third-round pick by the Texans in the 2018 draft out of Stanford, spent the first four years of his career in Houston before inking a three-year deal with the Chiefs. Reid played in three Super Bowls during his Chiefs tenure and won two titles in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Now Reid, who replaced Mathieu in Kansas City in 2022, is following the Honey Badger to New Orleans.

What grade do the Saints deserve for Justin Reid signing?

This is a nice signing for New Orleans. Reid has traditionally stayed healthy and was a productive member for the Chiefs' secondary during his three years in Kansas City. He knows how to play in big moments and on the brightest stages and can help the Saints secondary thrive for the next few years.

Reid's also still on the younger side, having just turned 28 years old in February. That means when this deal is ending, he'll be 31 years old and eligible for another contract, whether that's with the Saints or another team, we have no idea but he's set himself up to be in a good situation down the road.

This is a solid move for the Saints and considering they had needs in the secondary, it's hard to find much fault here. The move gets an A- and let's hope Reid can bring the same success he had in Kansas City to the Big Easy.
