The New Orleans Saints used the eighth-overall pick of the 2026 Draft on exciting receiver Jordyn Tyson, and the team is also preparing to pay Chris Olave, who has established himself as the team’s No. 1 receiver since arriving in the NFL. Olave and Tyson should be a nice duo for New Orleans, but the Saints shouldn’t be satisfied with their wide receiver room.
Outside of those two, New Orleans has some intriguing options, but those players are mostly question marks as far as how much they can consistently contribute. That’s why it would benefit the Saints to add another solid receiver. Fortunately for the team, there is one who appears to be available, and Louisiana fans are already familiar with him.
That receiver is Kayshon Boutte, of the New England Patriots, and the young wideout is reportedly open to be traded. New Orleans should absolutely explore acquiring Boutte, and not just because he’s from Louisiana and played at LSU.
Saints should explore a trade for Patriots receiver Kayshon Boutte
Boutte is entering his fourth year in the league, and in New England, but it seems like his time with the team is coming to an end. The 2026 season will be the final year of Boutte’s rookie contract, and with the Patriots adding A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs this offseason, in addition to the receivers already on the roster, the Pats probably won’t be giving Boutte another contract.
That could explain why the receiver decided to stay away from the team during the voluntary portion of the offseason program, and why a report also emerged that Boutte is open to be traded.
If that’s the case, the Saints should be on the phone with New England to see how much it will take to acquire Boutte. The wide receiver posted 33 receptions for 551 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games this past season, and that comes after a 2024 season with 43 receptions for 589 yards and three touchdowns.
Putting a player with that kind of production next to a talent like Chris Olave, and a receiver with the potential of Jordyn Tyson, would give the Saints a really exciting trio of wideouts. That would allow Tyler Shough, Kellen Moore, and the Saints offense to carry the momentum from last season, and be even better moving forward.
