The New Orleans Saints finally decided to pay Alvin Kamara, signing him to a two-year extension worth $24.5 million, and no one deserves it more than him. The veteran running back is everything you want in an elite player. Besides being one of the most talented players ever, he’s a leader that does everything the right way.

He’s also incredibly tough. It’s been public knowledge that Kamara has been playing through broken ribs since Week 3, and while everyone has been commending him for that, he recently dropped the news that he’s been playing through another significant injury.

During a Wednesday press conference, Kamara revealed that he broke his hand in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the veteran running back hasn’t missed any time, and he doesn’t plan to.

Still, he has 111 carries for 438 yards and six touchdowns, as well as 34 receptions for 252 yards and an additional touchdown.

Alvin Kamara says he’s been playing through a broken hand

Kamara has been on the injury report for his hand, but no one knew the severity. On the field, he looks the same, running hard, catching out of the backfield, and making big blocks in pass protection. The running back credits his PT Dr. Jose Tienda for helping him manage his injuries and stay available.

While fans appreciate Kamara’s willingness to play through these injuries, he isn’t really giving himself any credit, saying no one in the NFL is 100%. The star running back emphasized that as long as he can protect himself, he’ll be on the field.

That mindset is a big part of how he endeared himself to the fans so much, and while everyone was happy to see him get paid. Now, everyone wants to see him healthy and thrive on the field, leading New Orleans to wins.
