The New Orleans Saints have been carrying out a very methodical coaching search, and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has been paying close attention. Speaking with the media on radio row for Super Bowl 59, Shaheed explained that he’s been studying some of the candidates in the coaching search. Naturally, he was asked what he thinks about Kellen Moore, who’s expected to ultimately land the job, and Shaheed had high praise.
The young wideout referred to Moore as a genius, praising his offense for being spread out and creating a lot of space. Of course, that gives explosive playmakers like Shaheed a ton of room to showcase their abilities.

Rashid Shaheed is impressed with Kellen Moore’s offense
Moore is currently the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, and they will play in Super Bowl 59 on Sunday. That’s why the Saints haven’t been able to actually hire him yet. However, the franchise has already made it clear it will speak with him after the big game, and it’s been widely reported that, barring any setbacks, Kellen Moore will be the next head coach in New Orleans.
That’ll be great news for the offense and Shaheed, who considered him a genius. Moore will certainly be excited to have a weapon like Shaheed, although it doesn’t take a genius to draw up plays for a talent like him. The young receiver is coming off a meniscus injury, but prior to going down, he had 20 receptions for 349 yards and three touchdowns in six games. Shaheed also had one punt return, reminding everyone he’s a Pro Bowl returner.
With Shaheed and Chris Olave returning to the lineup healthy next season, as well as seemingly every offensive starter who went down with an injury, the next head coach will have some pieces to design a fun, productive offense.
