Tuesday, November 5, is the final day NFL teams can make trades for the 2024 season. The deadline for all trades is 4 p.m. ET. After that, teams will only be able to add to their teams through free agency. With a few last-minute moves already processed, there are several more trying to be made.

One team in the middle of trade-deadline news is the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are 2-7, and on Monday, they fired Dennis Allen as head coach. That decision certainly sent an alert to teams throughout the league to call New Orleans for trades. While the franchise is unlikely to have a fire-sale, the team has a couple of guys that could be on the move.

The biggest, and most-obvious, name is Marshon Lattimore. The veteran corner is still playing at an elite level, and he’s under contract for two more years after this season. He’s the ideal player for a contender to add at the deadline.

Teams throughout the league certainly think so, because New Orleans has reportedly received several calls about him. One of those calls came from the best team in the league.

On Monday, NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Saints have gotten multiple calls about Lattimore, and that the Kansas City Chiefs are likely one of the interested teams.

Chiefs reportedly interested in trading for Marshon Lattimore

The Kansas City Chiefs won the last two Super Bowls, and they are currently the only undefeated team in the league at 8-0. However, they’re aren’t a organization that gets complacent. The Chiefs recently traded for DeAndre Hopkins, and that’s a move that’s been paying off, as he just caught eight passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns on Monday Night Football.

While Kansas City is undefeated, six of its games have been one-score wins, and it’s clear they could be much better. That’s why a trade for Lattimore would make sense, as he’d provide some much needed help in the secondary.

In seven games this season, he has been targeted just 22 times, giving up only 12 completions for 114 yards but no touchdowns. His only issue has been health, as he missed Week 1 and Week 9 with a hamstring injury.

If teams are comfortable with his health, the Chiefs, as well as other contenders like the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders will explore acquiring him before the deadline.
