The New Orleans Saints managed to land one of the premier playmakers in the 2026 NFL Draft with the No. 8 overall pick, selecting Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. Given what many NFL Draft experts think about him, Tyson could be the type of player who can finally convince teams to stop focusing all of their attention on Chris Olave.

FanSided's Marcus Mosher believes that Tyson's skillset mirrors that of Dallas Cowbosy All-Pro CeeDee Lamb. If he even approaches half of that ceiling, the Saints will have given Olave the No. 2 wide receiver he has been begging for throughout his entire New Orleans career.

Tyson has an elite combination of size, speed, and the ability to play every spot at WR," Mosher said. "He can create instant separation with his route running and is NFL-ready when it comes to beating press. His game is very similar to CeeDee Lamb, and he is a silky smooth player who never looks stressed out on the field."

NFL Draft expert believes Jordyn Tyson could thrive in NFL with Saints

The biggest question surrounding Tyson is availability, as he has missed around 34% of his games in the last three seasons. His injuries include an ACL tear and a nagging hamstring problem that has followed him in his pre-draft process.

However, when healthy, Tyson is the top pass-catching prospect in this class. His ability to get open against man coverage and catch anything thrown in the same zip code as him will make the former Sun Devil star an instant playmaker who can take some of the pressure off Olave.

Olave being able to put up the numbers he has despite the lack of receiving talent around him has been a minor miracle. With Tyson on the other side to take some of the defensive attention away from him, New Orleans is giving Tyler Shough an embarrassment of riches to choose from.

The Saints are slowly making their way back to the ranks of the elite offenses across the NFL, and Tyson's ability to make plays down the field will be the best gift Olave could have possibly asked for this Draft season.
