Jameis Winston joins FOX Sports as a digital correspondent for Super Bowl 59
This role with FOX Sports isn’t about football, though, it’s about the city of New Orleans— something Winston knows well. According to Front Office Sports, the veteran quarterback “will be taking the digital audience around New Orleans on video journeys showcasing his favorite dining and entertainment hot-spots.”
Winston is definitely equipped to do that, because during his time with the Saints, he was frequently seen out and about in the city, partaking in the cultural traditions that makes New Orleans a special place. He became a part of the community in the city during his tenure, and that’s why he was so beloved by fans. Now, he’ll showcase the city to the world.
Winston did leave the Saints last offseason, signing with the Cleveland Browns, but he penned a heartfelt letter to the city before departing. He returned during the season when New Orleans defeated the Browns 35-14 in Week 11, and the moments he spent with his former teammates after the game made it clear the love was still there.
Now, after one season in Cleveland, Winston is once again a free agent. It’s early in he offseason, so it’s unclear what his next step is as far as his playing career, but his entertaining personality will be back on display during the week of Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.
