Saints inactives list for Week 6 game against Buccaneers
Gameday is finally here for the New Orleans Saints, and they’re hoping it’s much different from their last three game days. The Saints enter Week 6 at 2-3, losing their last three games. A three-game losing streak is never good, but it’s still early in the season, and the team can definitely turn things around.
Unfortunately, New Orleans will be challenged as it tries to snap the losing streak, playing without multiple key players. With a 3-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers team, coming off a loss, heading into the Superdome on Sunday, the Saints will need some big performances from several players.

Key absences and their impact
Of course, the biggest absence is starting quarterback Derek Carr. Week-to-week with an oblique injury, Carr is missing his first game since joining the Saints last year. With him out, rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler got the nod to start over second-year QB Jake Haener.
This will be Rattler’s first time being active all season, as he has served as the emergency third quarterback through the first five weeks. Haener has been QB2 all season, and that’ll continue on Sunday.
Beyond the quarterback position, the Saints have several other impactful losses. Taysom Hill is missing another game, and the impact of his abscence on the offense has been clear all season long. He’s a versatile piece that can’t be replaced.
Offensive linemen Cesar Ruiz and Lucas Patrick are also out. With Erik McCoy and Shane Lemieux still on injured reserve, the depth of the offensive line will once again be tested.
Defensively, New Orleans will be without Pete Werner again, and the team is missing starting safety Will Harris, who was recently placed on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury suffered in Week 6.
With so many key starters out, Sunday will definitely be tough for the Saints , but they have to find a way to win, or they’ll fall to 2-4, and the season will be close to going down the drain.
