The New Orleans Saints will have voluntary organized team activities this week, and there's a pretty good chance Alvin Kamara won't be present. With all of the attention on Kamara's future with the Saints, it would be easy to read into his expected absence. Please don't do it.
The first word in voluntary OTAs is voluntary. In other words, players do not have to show up, and Kamara has historically not shown up. It'll be a greater microscope on it this year, but Kamara has already established that he normally skips OTAs. If he isn't present this year, specifying it to the current situation would be misleading.
Alvin Kamara had this to say after Day 2 of Mini Camp regarding his participation in OTA’s.

Alvin Kamara's attendance will say a whole lot of nothing about his future
Let's play out two scenarios. First, maybe Kamara surprises fans and shows up to voluntary OTAs. It would be a phenomenal sign of where his head is at, and honestly, it should draw more of a reaction than Kamara not being present.
Deviating from his regular course of action would send an even louder message that Kamara wants to remain in New Orleans. He already did that when he joined Terron Armstead's The Set. Kamara spoke about playing with Etienne and connecting with the incoming draft picks. That, however, didn't stop the speculation about his future.
Loomis' most recent comments prove Kamara's excitement level about being a Saint in 2026 isn't enough. Kamara showing up to voluntary OTAs would still only be one side of the coin. Unfortunately, it isn't the side that calls the shots.
How about we flip the script and say Kamara stays at home. It wouldn't shock anyone. His presence sends a clear message, but his absence doesn't send a message at all. It says nothing other than business as usual for Kamara.
Kamara has already stated his intention to remain in New Orleans, and an absence from an event he's often doesn't attend won't change that. We've already established the ball is in the team's court. This is around the time Loomis hoped to find resolution. Whether Kamara is there or not this week, finally settling this ongoing situation would be a major win.
