Kellen Moore kept it short and sweet in relation to Cam Jordan's status with the New Orleans Saints, but one sentence said a lot. Moore told media on Wednesday, "Cam is navigating this on a personal side."

In the midst of negotiations, Moore isn't going to walk up to the podium and give all the details of what's happening. Unfortunately, that means a lot of speculation and reading between the lines is going to be involved when trying to get a takeaway from comments. Moore's statement about Jordan felt like there was more than just financials involved.

We've previously explored the idea of Jordan and the Saints not coming to a conclusion until training camp. It would give the veteran ample time to recover and not have to put his body through minicamp and offseason team activities. It may not be grueling, but the rest is an added benefit regardless. Moore's comments only build on that theory.

Saints fans may just need to be patient about Cam Jordan's future

Let's say the Saints and Jordan do have an agreement to not put ink to paper until late in the offseason. Is Moore going to say that? Of course not. On the other hand, questions about Jordan's status won't relent until he's signed, and the questions must receive answers.

Another thing Moore said that feels like it's more than just a financial conversation is if Jordan "feels comfortable and ready to go, then we'll be ready to rock and roll." "Ready to go" was an interesting choice of words. It makes it sound like timing plays a part in negotiations just as much as compensation.

Speculation aside, it appears the Saints' side is they've given Jordan an offer and are waiting on a decision from him. We've laid out how Alvin Kamara is putting the ball in the Saints' court to make a decision. The team is now doing that same thing with Jordan. If there was any doubt, Moore said, "we have an offer for a reason" when asked if they hope Jordan returns.

We won't get figures, and the Saints could completely be low-balling Jordan in negotiations, but all we have to work with is the Saints have put an offer out there. We don't know why Jordan hasn't accepted it, but we do know that the Saints are waiting on him. Only time will tell how these negotiations will end, but it seems like both sides are open.
