Saints fans can at least take solace in the Falcons having a worse Week 3

It's no easy task to find positives in a 13-44 loss to a Sam Darnold-led Seattle Seahawks, so we won't try to. Instead, we'll look to an outside source for a silver lining. At least the New Orleans Saints aren't the Atlanta Falcons. The Saints were blown out, but the Falcons were blown out and shut out by the Carolina Panthers. The Saints fared slightly better than the Falcons against a better team. It's the only win the team will get walking out of Week 3

It was an ugly week for the Saints. When you can look over and witness the Falcons misery, it serves as a distraction, a momentary piece of solace. There's a cliche saying someone out there has it worse than you. When that "someone" is the Falcons, that puts a big smile on Saints fans' faces.

The Falcons lost a divisional game. Though a loss is a loss, losing a game against a divisional opponent is much more likely to be a detriment to any playoff aspirations either team could face. Playoffs feel like a longshot for both franchises, but the Saints don't have an NFC South loss to their name.

New Orleans & Atlanta quarterback comparions that tells a different story

Both the Saints and Falcons are starting second-year quarterbacks, Michael Penix Jr & Spencer Rattler. Neither QB concluded their game, which looks rather lackluster coming from each team's young and promising franchise player.

Although the bottom line is they both took another tally in the loss column, taking a deeper look will tell a different story in each player and their contributions, or lack thereof, in each franchise's loss in week 3.

Rattlers play versus the Seahawks wasn't disappointing finishing his day with 218 yards and a touchdown, production Atlanta fans would of begged for out of Penix facing the Panthers. Penix finished his night with 172 yards paired with 2 interceptions not being able to help the Falcons find the end zone the duration of the game.
