Jordyn Tyson has drawn comparisons to Odell Beckham Jr. before. As a prospect, it's a high compliment because of how talented Beckham is. One New Orleans Saints expert just laid out another similarity between the two that may make fans stress less about Tyson's current injury.
Host of State of The Saints podcast TJay Jones posted on social media, "I can remember back in 2014 a WR named Odell Beckham Jr missed most of training camp and the first 4 games of the season with a hamstring injury. He went on to become offensive rookie of the year and one of the best receivers in the game. Thats what I think of the Jordyn Tyson injury. He has his whole career ahead of him."
Jones was using the comparison to say Tyson has a career ahead of him, so fans shouldn't be as caught up on this particular injury. Granted, Beckham never reached his ceiling because the injuries never stopped for him. Hopefully, Tyson doesn't repeat that part, but the first part Jones' comparison should create a lot of excitement.

Tyson's hamstring injury stopped the hype train dead in it's tracks. He spent all offseason rehabbing, then made everyone a believer with an auspicious start to training camp. When Tyson got injured, it's like all of that went out the window, and the talking points from around the draft came storming back.
Tyson's collegiate injury history was relitigated once again. Questions of whether the Saints can ever depend on him were abundant. We can't tell the future, but we can look to the past for a dream outcome for Tyson this year.
There isn't a Saints fan on the planet who wouldn't take a rookie season like 2014 Odell Beckham Jr. Injury or not, he was one of the absolutely most dynamic players on the field every week, and it was much more than a spectacular one-handed catch on primetime.
Just like Beckham, Tyson is set up to miss the first month of the season, at least. When Beckham returned, he became one of the best in the league at his position as a rookie. His 108.8 yards per game led the league.
Beckham truly got his legs underneath him at the end of the year, and went on an insane run. The wide receiver had at least 130 receiving yards and a touchdown in each of his last 4 games and in five of the Giants' last six games.
Yes, things were a little slow at first, but after the first three games he played, Beckham never had less than 90 yards. This would be a dream for Tyson and would make fans forget all about the hamstring injury.
If Jones' comparison is even slightly accurate, Tyson will push Chris Olave as the best receiver on the team in his rookie campaign. That's a dream scenario for the Saints and would establish them as one of the top receiver tandems in the league.
The better Tyson is, the better the Saints will be. Having a year like Beckham is a high bar to set. However, if Tyson can return from injury, stay healthy, while also playing like the receiver we thought he could be, that'd be a successful rookie year
