Tyrann Mathieu is clearly a fan of New Orleans Saints first round pick Jordyn Tyson. In addition to predicting him to win rookie of the year, Mathieu also compared Tyson to Odell Beckham Jr. That's high praise to anyone who watched Beckham in his prime, and Mathieu had a front row view to Beckham's early days at LSU.
Mathieu started by looking at the entertainment aspect of Beckham before moving to Tyson's athleticism. He doesn't think that part of the rookie's game gets discussed enough. It's a big reason on why he was conisdered the best wide receiver prospect in the draft if everyone is healthy.

Jordyn Tyson and Odell Beckham Jr. already have a relationship
An interesting layer to add to Mathieu's comparison is Tyson and Beckham trained together, and Tyson said they "talk all the time." Interesting enough, it sounds like the relationship didn't form after he was drafted to the Saints. Beckham was in Arizona when Tyson was training, and that's how the relationship began. The timeline is a bit unclear, but the timing of Tyson's comments would make it seem like the training was before the draft.
It wasn't all football all day with these two. Since being drafted by the Saints, Beckham has talked to Tyson about New Orleans as well. He told the rookie how much he loved the city and extended an open line if Tyson needed anything.
It's one thing to train with great players, but training with a player similar to yourself is a different benefit. If Tyson is already emulating pieces of Beckham's game, getting first hand knowledge on how to maximize that trait.
Tyson can obviously benefit from learning techniques he hasn't used and adding something new to his game, however, there's something to be said for strengthening a strength. Beckham gets talked about for a lot of things, and sometimes his electric start to his career goes unmentioned. He had three straight 1300 yard seasons, despite only playing 12 games as a rookie.
Mathieu seeing some Beckham in Tyson's game and Tyson is training with Beckham could be a deadly competition. It'd be reckless to predict Tyson's career starting with that kind of three year run, but Tyson could show some of the same explosiveness, game changing ability and knack for big moments that made Beckham special.
