The New Orleans Saints are seemingly resetting their coaching search after their reported top target, Aaron Glenn, accepted the head coaching job for the New York Jets. Now, the Saints are one of four teams that still have an opening, and they’re currently expanding their search after the Glenn News.

Entering this week, New Orleans had four in-person interviews scheduled with candidates. Those candidates were Mike Kafka (New York Giants OC), Anthony Weaver (Miami Dolphins DC), Mike McCarthy, and Aaron Glenn. However, all four interviews had to be rescheduled because of the winter storm that hit New Orleans and surrounding areas.

With Glenn off the table, the Saints have rescheduled the other three, and added two more candidates for in-person interviews. The franchise is hoping to meet with Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

Saints hope to have in-person interviews with Joe Brady and Kellen Moore

Both Moore and Brady have been names frequently bought up this hiring cycle because of their work as offensive coordinators, and both had virtual interviews with the Saints. However, neither were initially reported on the short list of candidates receiving a second interview, set to be in person, but they’re both now added.

Their respective teams are still alive, with Moore’s Eagles playing in the NFC Championship and Brady’s Bills playing in the AFC Championship. That means they won’t be able to make it to New Orleans until at least next week, which means the Saints’ coaching search isn’t ending soon.

Amongst these candidates, they all lean offensive, except Weaver. Additionally, Mike McCarthy is the only one with head coaching experience, and his impressive resume could be why he’s believed to now be the top option for New Orleans. But, with several meetings lined up, one of these young coordinators could come in and win over the Saints.
