Entering the offseason, one of the biggest holes on the roster for the New Orleans Saints was the left guard position. The Saints were seemingly set with starters at the other four positions on the line, but with Lucas Patrick entering free agency, and ultimately signing with the Cincinnati Bengals, it was unclear who would fill the left guard spot.
On Monday, New Orleans figured out the answer, signing Dillon Radunz to a one-year contract. The veteran has a ton of starting experience, and received interest from multiple teams. Ultimately, he lands in New Orleans.

Saints sign veteran offensive lineman Dillon Radunz
Radunz played his first four seasons in the league with the Tennessee Titans, starting 15 games on the line for them in 2024. Those 15 games came at right guard, but he’s a versatile lineman that has experience playing all over the line. In college, at North Dakota State, he was a tackle, and that’s what he entered the league as in 2021 when he was a second-round pick.
Radunz played 54 total games for the Titans, starting 31— 26 of those starts came in the last two seasons. While he doesn’t have any accolades, he has been trending in the right direction during his career. He’ll now try to continue that development with the Saints.
He’s certainly not a name that will prevent New Orleans from adding other lineman if the team sees fit, but Radunz will likely be the one who slides into the starting lineup when the team returns to the practice field. With Taliese Fuaga returning at left tackle, Erik McCoy at center, Cesar Ruiz at right guard, and Trevor Penning at right tackle, Radunz could be the missing piece.
This group is of a much different caliber than what Saints head coach Kellen Moore had to work with last season with the Philadelphia Eagles, but if they can stay healthy, they should be a solid unit.
