Richard Sherman eviscerates Dennis Allen for Saints’ pathetic TNF effort

He's not wrong.

No one was particularly excited to watch a beat up New Orleans Saints team square off against a bad Denver Broncos team in primetime but hey, that's Thursday Night Football for you! The Saints are playing as though they didn't realize they had a game to play, trailing 16-3 at the half and looking absolutely lifeless on the gridiron.

The poor performance had former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman criticizing head coach Dennis Allen during the halftime show. Sherman absolutely ripped Allen to shreds, noting "It seems like [the Saints] want to get their coach fired! That's the effort they're playing with. Dennis Allen, you call a timeout so we can watch your quarterback take a knee?!"

Richard Sherman has seen enough of Dennis Allen

It feels like centuries ago when the Saints were 2-0 and blowing out teams to start the year. Since then, they've dropped four straight games and it looks as though that number will climb to five.

The Saints have played a lot of uninspired football since Allen was hired as the head coach in 2022 but this game feels like it could be the icing on the cake when it comes to getting rid of him. The defense does not look like they care to stop a bad Broncos offense, allowing the Denver run game to do whatever it wants.

The offense also appeared to be over Allen, with Spencer Rattler and Alvin Kamara both looking furious toward the end of the first half. It's been a rough night for the Saints but an even worse night for Allen whose seat has to be getting hotter with this embarrassment of a performance.

Saints fans have been wanting to see Allen canned dating back to his first year on the job and it's hard to blame them. He's a great defensive coordinator but after a failed stint in Oakland and now an abysmal collapse with the Saints this year, it's time to admit this isn't a good fit and move on.
