I know, I know. We all hate the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but we have to give them thanks on the rare occasions they help out our beloved New Orleans Saints. Thanks to their Thursday Night Football loss to the Baltimore Ravens, they helped give the Saints a golden opportunity to potentially jump from the bottom of the NFC South straight to the top.

Of course, many things can happen on gameday but here's to hope. You know, hope that if the Saints do indeed beat the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday to end their current two-game losing streak, everything falls into place so they can finally get out of that NFC South basement. If the Saints win and the Atlanta Falcons lose to the Carolina Panthers, they'd literally be in a three-way tie for first place with the Buccaneers and Panthers.

Who knows what will transpire in Week 8 but this season's NFC South race sure has been an interesting one, to say the least. It's absolutely crazy that we're about to be in November and at just 2-3, the Saints still have a chance to right the ship and get right back on top of the division due to how bad the other teams have been.

The Saints can be on top of the NFC South thanks to the Buccaneers

If there was any "must-win" game of the season so far for the Saints, it's this one. Winning fixes everything and all the Saints need to do is win on Sunday. Take care of that and if they get a little help from the Panthers, we can all be smiles from ear to ear with a potential first-place Saints once Week 8 is officially in the books.

For now, all of us Saints fans can thank the Buccaneers for setting up our team with something that will help ease the frustrations we've all been feeling this season. Nothing makes us happier than seeing the Buccaneers lose, especially on primetime, but this was just icing on the cake in the grand scheme of things for our Saints.
