Let’s look at the opponents for each of the primetime games.
Saints have three primetime games in 2024
Week 5 - At Kansas City Chiefs (Monday Night Football)
The Saints first primetime game of the year is against the Chiefs in Week 5. This is going to be an important game as it will give fans a sense of how good New Orleans is. Going up against Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid is going to be a tall task.
The Saints lucked out that they are playing at Arrowhead earlier in the season. This is important as it, most likely, will keep the Saints from having to play in a bad weather game in Kansas City. This will be a tough game, regardless, but the Saints are going to have the chance to march into Arrowhead and take down the defending Super Bowl Champions.
Week 7 - Vs. Denver Broncos (Thursday Night Football)
This Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos is one that many fans are looking forward to. It’s going to be headlined by the return of Sean Payton to New Orleans. Besides the emotional aspects of this game, it is also going to be a fairly important game for the Saints’ season.
New Orleans has an extremely challenging start to the season. In the first six weeks, the team faces off against four playoff teams from last year. This Broncos game is important because if the Saints lose, they may start to lose the fanbase. Regardless, this game is bound to be one of high emotions that many fans tune in to watch.
Week 16 - At Green Bay Packers (Monday Night Football)
This game is going to be challenging for multiple reasons. The first is that the Packers are a solid team. They made a run in the playoffs last year and are poised to improve and have a great year. In addition to that, the weather could be a key factor in this game. Playing at Lambeau Field in the middle of winter could be a tall task for a team used to playing in a dome. This game is likely to have major playoff implications to it as well. A conference opponent at the end of the season could prove to be a make-or-break game for this Saints team.
