Saints preseason schedule 2024: Dates, opponents, and more
The NFL recently announced the 2024 schedule for the league. With the reveal, we found out that the New Orleans Saints will have three primetime games, and that despite having the easiest schedule in the league, the Saints will have an extremely tough start to the season.
Along with the official release of the schedule, we also found out the details for New Orleans’ three preseason games. Before the Saints can get to the regular season, they’ll play three exhibition games while in training camp. Those preseason games will also make way for some joint practices. Let’s jump into all the details for the three preseason games.
Saints preseason schedule
Week | Opponent | Date | Time (CT) | Network |
---|---|---|---|---|
P-Week 1 | at Cardinals | TBD | TBD | TBD |
P-Week 2 | at 49ers | Aug. 18 | 7:00 PM | FOX 8 |
P-Wek 3 | vs. Titans | TBD | TBD | TBD |
There are still quite a few details to be ironed out but what we know now is that New Orleans will play three preseason games, the first two on the road, then one final one at home. The Saints will play the Arizona Cardinals on the road first, then the San Francisco 49ers. The preseason will conclude for New Orleans with a home game against the Tennessee Titans.
It has also already been reported that during the week ahead of the second preseason game against, San Francisco, the Saints and the 49ers will hold some joint practices. This is common place in the NFL, as teams use this opportunity to get extended good-on-good looks in a competitive environment. However, since the starters spend most of the week facing off against each other, they usually don’t get many snaps, if any at all, in the actual game.
There’s also a possibility that the Saints could decide to hold joint practices with the other teams on the preseason schedule. While we wait for those details to emerge, we can look forward to these preseason games, as they play an important role for the players fighting to make the 53-man roster.
