In Saints news, the New Orleans Saints signed four players to Reserve/Future contracts. Also in Saints news, Frank Reich is the newest member of the NFC South, having agreed to coach the Carolina Panthers.

The Saints signed Kawaan Baker, Ryan Connelly, Miller Forristall, and Alex Quevedo to Reserve/Future contracts. The only name that Saints fans probably recognize from this bunch is Baker, who the team spent a seventh-round pick on in the 2021 NFL Draft.

As for Reich, he was fired by the Indianapolis Colts and everyone was surprised by it. The Colts went on to be one of the worst teams in the league in 2022 but it was hardly Reich's fault. The Colts never had a stable quarterback situation during his time in Indy yet the team was competitve until this year.

Now Reich will be leading the charge in Carolina with a chance to find his franchise quarterback either in the draft or free agency.

Here's what's trending in Saints news.

Saints Sign Four Players to Reserve/Future Contracts [John Hendrix, SI]

Hendrix notes in the article that the Saints have been busy when it comes to signing players to these Reserve/Future contracts. We'll see if anything comes of this.

Report: Panthers didn't ask Steve Wilks to be a part of Frank Reich's coaching staff [Anthony Rizzuti, Panthers Wire]

"With the love, respect and support Wilks has received from Panthers players and fans, many had hoped the Charlotte native would somehow stick around had he not been offered the job—perhaps as a defensive coordinator. But, this isn’t a Tyronn Lue story."

From Rizzuti's article

Wilks was a big part in the Panthers nearly making the playoffs this season. Will this end up being a bad move on Carolina's end?

There was reportedly 'an issue' between Sean Payton and the Broncos during his interview [Patrick Magee, NOLA.com]

It appears that Payton going to the Broncos isn't a done deal like so many talking heads thought. It always felt like returning to FOX and waiting for a better job was the best move for Payton and hopefully now he'll do that.
