Key absences and their impact

The biggest name here and most impactful absence is undoubtedly A.T. Perry. The second-year receiver was expected to be WR3, after Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to contribute from the sideline, and that could put a dent in the passing game. The wide receiver group is already thin and unproven after the top two guys, so losing Perry doesn’t help.

New Orleans will also be thin on the interior defensive line. The Saints still have both starters in Nathan Shepherd and Bryan Bresee, but with Khalen Saunders and John Ridgeway III inactive, the depth of the group will be challenged.

Also important to note, New Orleans designated rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler as the emergency third quarterback. While he’s technically inactive, he could enter the game if Derek Carr and Jake Haener are hurt.
