New Orleans Saints fans have been trying to manifest Davante Adams to the Saints for a while, but those wishes became much more realistic on Tuesday, when it was reported Adams and the Las Vegas Raiders are open to a trade. Now, things have moved another step in the right direction for New Orleans.

NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Adams has two teams high on his wishlist of destinations. Those two teams are the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints. As many people expected, the star receiver would like to reunite with one of his quarterbacks.

Derek Carr and Davante Adams were a dynamic duo together at Fresno State, and that’s a big reason why the Raiders acquired Adams. However, their reunion was short lived, as Las Vegas decided to move on from Carr less than a year later. Now, Carr is in New Orleans, and Adams could be coming to join him.

The move makes a ton of sense from a football perspective. Obviously, the quarterback connection, but beyond that, New Orleans really needs depth in the wide receiver room. Currently, Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed are putting together good seasons, but the Saints don’t have another receiver after them with more than four receptions.

With what New Orleans has already shown this season, Adams, and getting healthy, would make the team a serious threat in the NFC. However, there are the complications of the salary cap, as well as moving assets, when the team could be on the verge of a rebuild.

Those are the things the Saints front office has to think about when considering a possible trade, but fans are definitely excited to hear the team is high on the wishlist of the six-time Pro Bowl receiver. Everyone will be even more excited if he ends up on the roster.
