4. Jon Gruden, Consultant, New Orleans Saints

Finally, we come to the big name. It was somewhat surprising to see Jon Gruden's name thrown out there by former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel as a Carmichael replacement option, but the more you think about it, the more it makes sense.

For those who may have missed it, Gruden spent this past season with the Saints as a consultant. It was a move that flew under the radar and didn't necessarily get as much media attention as one would have thought. Maybe, that was due to how Gruden exited the league back in Las Vegas in 2021.

Still, he remains one of the better offensive minds in the game. He has spent time with dozens upon dozens of quarterbacks over the years, both in coaching and in his days as an analyst. The quarterback position is his baby. It's what he does. And, he's spent time with Carr when they were both with the Raiders, so this makes a lot more sense than it might on the surface.

Gruden saw Carr throw for over 4,000 yards in all four years the two of them were together. Funny enough, Carr threw for a career-high 4,804 yards in 2021, the year Gruden was let go. Since the two of them have been apart, Carr has not topped the 4,000-yard mark. Coincidence? Maybe.

But, Gruden understands Carr and his tendencies. It would only make sense for a move like this to happen.
