At running back, it's important that we factor in the suspension of Alvin Kamara for the first three games of the season. Once Kamara is back, one of the running backs on the active roster will likely be cut.

For now, we can assume that the Saints will for sure keep Jamaal Williams and rookie Kendre Miller. Those guys are absolute locks. The undrafted rookie, Ellis Merriweather, looks to have made a strong impression as well and could wind up finding a spot on the roster as the team's third back.

From that point, it would be up to Darrel Williams and Kirk Merritt to compete for a fourth spot on the roster, if the Saints even choose to keep four running backs. They're likely going to keep Adam Prentice as a full back, giving them four total backs already.

Williams played four seasons in Kansas City before moving on to Arizona last year, and hardly having a role as he carried the ball just 21 times on the season. It looks like it's nearly the end of the road for him, unless he can show out in this final game against the Texans.
