Marshon Lattimore details the offseason drama between him, Dennis Allen, and Saints
It has been a loud offseason for Marshon Lattimore, as everyone speculated about his future with the New Orleans Saints. While everyone else talked, Lattimore remained quiet, pretty much staying out the way all offseason. That all changed this week when Lattimore reported for mandatory minicamp, and spoke with the media after his first practice of the offseason.
Sharing his perspective of the noisy offseason, Lattimore had a very it-is-what-it-is approach. However, he spoke about the conversation that head coach Dennis Allen said the two had to work through things. According to Lattimore, the conversation was about a personal situation between the two, not a trade request or trade rumors or anything like that. Allen felt it was a needed conversation, but Lattimore felt they could’ve moved forward without a talk, while also acknowledging that communication is key.
In the end, Lattimore is still in New Orleans and that’s all he’s focused on. He categorized everything else as just talk, saying he’s good with Allen and the team, but he’s prepared to roll with whatever happens.

Lattimore was even asked if he felt a way about the team exploring trade talks surrounding him, and his response was very understanding, admitting that he had no problem with it because he knows the NFL is a business, and that he has dealt with injuries over the last two years. With that being the case, he understands if people feel different about him as a player, and if that would’ve led to a trade.
Instead of being bothered by the entire situation, Lattimore is just looking at it all as an opportunity to remind everyone who he is. He said that everything falls on him, so he just needs to let his play do the talking. He argued that he’s the No. 1 cornerback in the NFL, and if health is on his side this season, he’ll show that.
