Is Taysom Hill playing against Eagles? Full injury update for Saints versatile star
The New Orleans Saints have been there story of the NFL through the first two weeks. Jumping out to a 2-0 start, with two blowout wins, against the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys, everyone in the league has been talking about the Saints’ explosive offense, and all the points they’re putting up.
A key to their offense is the versatile Taysom Hill, and how new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is using him . Unfortunately for New Orleans, Hill is not playing in the Week 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Taysom Hill is inactive for Saints’ Week 3 game vs. Eagles
The do-it-all offensive weapon sustained a chest injury in Week 2 against the Cowboys, and even took a precautionary visit to the hospital following the game. He missed Wednesday’s practice, but returned for limited practices on Thursday and Friday.
Unfortunately, since Friday’s practice, Hill’s status has gone from questionable, to doubtful, and now out.
On the season, Hill has eight carries for 53 yards and two receptions for two yards. However, anyone who watches New Orleans understands his impact goes behind the box score.
Since Hill does play multiple positions, it’ll take multiple players to fill in for him against Philadelphia. Juwan Johnson will have a bigger role at tight end, and Adam Prentice will play even more snaps at fullback. Both players have already contributed this season, but they will play even more snaps with Taysom Hill out of the lineup.
Fortunately, New Orleans still has more than enough to win against the Eagles. Philadelphia hasn’t been able to stop the run, and the Saints have been elite on the ground, and every way imaginable. If they can once again establish the run game, New Orleans should be on its way to another high-scoring win.
