This week hasn’t been a good one for the New Orleans Saints. As the 2-1 team prepared for a big rivalry game against the 1-2 Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans battled health all throughout the week. The Saints injury report was long, and filled with key players that the team leans on.

Throughout the week, one name that wasn’t on the injury report was Chris Olave. Unfortunately, the third-year wide receiver injured his hamstring in practice on Friday, the final practice day before the game. The injury gave New Orleans another banged up key player, and threatened Olave’s status for Week 4.

Now, with game day here, everyone is hoping the young wideout can play. Fortunately for the Saints, he’s expected to be available for Sunday’s game.

Chris Olave is a game-time decision but Saints confident he will play

Hamstrings are a tricky injury, so the team is going to have Chris Olave workout before the game to make sure he’s ready to go. However, ESPN insider Adam Schefter has already reported New Orleans is confident Olave will play.

The Saints certainly need the wide receiver on the field against Atlanta. While Week 3 wasn’t a good game for New Orleans, it was a nice game for Olave’s development as a No. 1 receiver. Finishing the game with six catches for 86 yards and a touchdown, he had three catches on third down and three receptions on second and longs.

He was clearly the go-to receiver for Derek Carr in tough situations, and Olave delivered. They’ll try to build off that Week 3 performance and keep things rolling in a big game against Atlanta. Hopefully everything goes well for Olave in the team’s pregame warmups, and he doesn’t suffer any setbacks that keep him out of the Week 4 action.
