It’s no secret that the New Orleans Saints have several high-paid players on the roster; that’s why the team is in a battle with the salary cap every offseason. It costs to have elite players on the team. Unfortunately, while New Orleans has several elite players, it hasn’t had the team success in recent years to match.

The Saints will try to change that in 2024, and the team’s highest-paid players will lead the way. Who, exactly, are the highest-paid players in New Orleans? Let’s take a look at the top five.

5. Ryan Ramczyk is the fifth-highest paid player for the Saints in 2024

Veteran right tackle Ryan Ramczyk is the fifth-high paid player in New Orleans, with a $12,293,321 cap number. This is the third year of the five-year extension worth $96 million that Ramczyk signed back in 2021. The bad news, though, is that it’s currently uncertain if he’ll be able to play at all in 2024 due to an issue with his knee.

4. Derek Carr is the fourth-highest paid player for the Saints in 2024

Next on the list is the man Ramczyk protects: Derek Carr. The quarterback has a 2024 cap number of $12,668,000, making him the fourth-highest paid player for the Saints. That’s relatively low considering that this is only the second year of a four-year contract worth $150 million. However, Carr’s cap hits will ballon to north of $50 million in 2025, and more than $60 million in 2026.

3. Cam Jordan is the third-highest paid player for the Saints in 2024

Veteran defensive end Cameron Jordan is next, as the third-highest paid in New Orleans, with a 2024 cap hit of $13,852,250. Jordan signed a two-year extension worth just under $28 million this offseason, tying him to New Orleans through the 2025 season.

2. Marshon Lattimore is the second-highest paid player for the Saints in 2024

Star cornerback Marshon Lattimore is second on the list with a $14,616, 317 cap number. The veteran defensive back is entering year three of a five-year, $97.603 million deal. Unfortunately, he has only played in 17 games over the last two seasons. Lattimore is hoping to stay healthy in 2024 and prove that he’s still worth being the second-highest paid player in New Orleans.

1. Alvin Kamara is the highest paid player for the Saints in 2024

The highest-paid player for the Saints in 2024 will be running back Alvin Kamara, who has a $18,553,824 cap number. He is entering the fourth season of a five-year extension worth $75 million. However, 2024 is essentially the final season of the deal, as Kamara is due more than $25 million in 2025. He knows New Orleans isn’t going to pay him that, and that’s why he’s seeking a new contract.
