The New Orleans Saints and the Philadelphia Eagles face off in Week 3, and this matchup looks a lot different than people imagined. Coming into the season, the expectation was the Eagles would fly into New Orleans and get an easy win. Now, after two games have beeen played, the Saints are 2-0 and look like the best team in football, and Philly is 1-1 and trying to play to the level of its talent.

Unfortunately for the Eagles, they may be trying to find their rhythm on Sunday without one of their best players. Philadelphia released its first injury report of the week on Wednesday, and while it wasn’t a lengthy list like the Saints’, it had a pretty big name. One of the two players on the Eagles’ injury report was star receiver A.J. Brown, and he missed Wednesday’s practice with a hamstring injury.

This isn’t a surprising development, as Brown missed Philly’s Monday Night Football game in Week 2 with the hamstring injury. However, it’s looking like he may not be available against New Orleans either. His status could change throughout the week, and both fanbases will certainly be monitoring closely.

If he does miss the action on Sunday, that definitely benefits the Saints. Philadelphia is still loaded offensively with Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and DeVonta Smith, but not having to worry about a near 1500-yard receiver in the mix makes things easier.

Whether Brown is available or not, this game has the potential to be challenging for New Orleans. The Eagles haven’t looked good, but with the amount of talent on their roster, they could turn it on at any moment. That’s why it’s important New Orleans prepares for the team Philly could be, and not the team it currently is. Either way, if the Saints continue to play how they’ve been playing, it won’t matter which version of the opponent shows up.
