Nick Sirianni makes desperate attempt to stop Saints hiring Kellen Moore after SB win

There's no way the Saints will let this happen.

All signs point toward Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore becoming the next New Orleans Saints head coach.

Sorry, let me rephrase that: Super Bowl-winning offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

It was the worst-kept secret entering Super Bowl weekend, and Moore sent one final message to the Saints by guiding his offense to a dominant performance against a talented Kansas City Chiefs defense. They put up 345 yards and 33 points against the Chiefs, with the other seven coming on a Cooper DeJean pick-six.

However, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has made one final desperate attempt to stop it from happening.

In his postgame interview, Sirianni sent a clear message to his offensive coordinator:

"Let's run this s--- back, Kellen," he said in his FOX interview.

Uh, that's not how this thing works! Moore has already achieved what he needed to in Philadelphia. He led a dominant offense that featured the No. 2 rushing attack in football. They are the Super Bowl champions. It doesn't get any better than that.

In New Orleans, Moore gets the opportunity to take full control of the team and start a new project. Sure, the Saints have a lot of work to do this offseason and beyond, but as long as the team shows patience and gives him time, Moore can lead them into a new era.

You have to take head coach opportunities when they come around. Just ask Bobby Slowik.

Sirianni would benefit from keeping Moore in town, but that's not what's best for his offensive coordinator.

The Saints need to put an end to it as soon as possible. They should get straight on the phone with Moore's team and get this deal over the line. The last thing we need is a Liam Coen situation.

It could only be a matter of hours before the Saints have their new Super Bowl-winning head coach. Just keep Sirianni as far away from him as possible.
