For the NFL, draft season exists in two distinct phases: pre-combine and post-combine. Most things said pre-combine are all speculation, with analysts basing everything off prospects’ college film. At the combine, though, players are officially measured, put through medical exams and athletic testing, and meet with teams.
While that’s all happening, there are also a ton of conversations being had between media members and decision makers throughout the league. With everyone gathered in Indianapolis, word starts to get around about how teams actually feel about players.
This allows for a post-combine world with more accurate mock drafts. So with that in mind, here’s a three-round mock draft for the New Orleans Saints, taking into account everything that unfolded at the 2025 Scouting Combine.
Saints post-combine 3-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Round 1, Pick 9: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Despite not throwing, or doing any tests, quarterback Sheduer Sanders was one of the biggest storylines at the Combine. While he’s considered one of the top two QB prospects in the draft class, the consensus thought coming out of Indianapolis was that Cam Ward is the clear QB1 to many teams, and Sanders could slide outside the top five on draft night.
If that happens, it’ll be great news for the Saints, who need a franchise quarterback to carry them into the future. Sanders met with New Orleans while in Indy, so the team is definitely getting familiar with him. If he’s available at No. 9, the Saints should absolutely draft him.
Round 2, Pick 40: Landon Jackson, Edge, Arkansas
Landon Jackson was one of the several athletic edge defenders that put on a show at the Combine. At 6-foot-6, 264 pounds, he ran a 4.68 40-yard dash and recorded a 40.5-inch vertical jump. The impressive showing, along with his 14 sacks and 24 tackles for a loss over the last two years has him high on a lot of team’s draft boards.
The Saints, who could take an edge defender in the first round, are certainly one of those teams. Since New Orleans wouldn’t be able to pass up on a top quarterback in round one, the team would get its edge in round two.
Round 3, Pick 71: Tre Harris, WR, Ole Miss
Another position the Saints could take in the first round is wide receiver. Since they didn’t in this mock draft, they’ll select one in the third, drafting Ole Miss wide out Tre Harris. After catching 60 passes for 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns last season, Harris measured in at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds at the Combine, and ran a 4.54 40-yard dash.
He’d be a great pick up in the thrid round for New Orleans, allowing the team to group him with Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. The Saints desperately need wide receiver depth, so they have to get one at some point in the draft.
Round 3, Pick 93: Tate Ratledge, IOL, Georgia
Another position New Orleans desperately needs depth at is on the interior offensive line. In addition to depth, the Saints may need a starter at the left guard position. That could be Georgia offensive lineman Tate Ratledge, who was available in the third round for New Orleans to draft.
In addition to his experience starting for the Bulldogs, Ratledge had a very impressive outing at the combine. At 6-foot-6.5 inches, 308 pounds, he ran 4.97 40-yard dash. The combine showing could lead to him going earlier than No. 93, but if he’s available, New Orleans shouldn’t hesitate.
